Falcon water polo ended its run for a title in the Division 1 CIF playoffs with a loss to the CCA Ravens. The quarter final match was played Friday, November 3 at the La Jolla High pool, under a spectacular sunset. The two teams were evenly matched and traded goals back and forth to a 6-6 tie at half time. Torrey led the score several times in the second half, only to have CCA tie the score again. Late in the 4th quarter CCA scored to go up by a goal, but Torrey couldn't produce a goal in response. CCA, with possession in the last seconds of the game managed to put away one more shot and clinch a 2 point lead. The final score was 10-8. CCA will advance to meet Poway in the semis.
Earlier this the week The Falcons prevailed with a 14-6 win over San Marcos High in first round CIF play. Falcons finish their 2017 season with a record of 20 wins and 9 losses overall. They will graduate two seniors this spring, #7 Brandon Schwartz, and #10 Chris Stepakis. Comments are closed.
